He Snores!

A few months ago, we noticed John was snoring terribly and sound generally stuffy. I kept trying to figure out what he was allergic to. One night I happened to catch a glimpse of his tonsils when I was brushing his teeth.

After much prayer and discussion and a visit to a pediatric ENT, we decided we needed to get them removed. 

Eating Jello very very early in the morning so his tummy wasn't totally empty. (Poor thing had no idea what surgery or getting his tonsils out really meant.)

Headed in to the surgery center.

While we were in the prep room, we could hear multiple kids screaming and carrying on. Thankfully, John has brothers and that didn't phase him. He was so sweet. He just colored and played. Never screamed. He was such a good little patient. (And he looks so cute in the hospital jammies.) They gave hims something to keep him from being anxious when they took him away. He couldn't sit up. It was quite funny.

We lost count of how many Popsicle we had...

He had to spend the night at the hospital because he's so little. When we asked him who he wanted to stay with him, he said, "Daddy. Not you, mommy." 

He is recovering quite nicely! The nights were a bit rough for the first week. I think his throat would get dried out at night. I think he's pretty much back to normal... Well, he might not be caught up on sleep yet. 

And...the snoring... What snoring!?! We have a few times had to listen very carefully to make sure he was breathing. He just so quite no! 

He kept wanting to eat things he couldn't have (i.e. banana chips, crackers). We tried to explain to him he had to wait until his throat was better. He finally said, "Mommy, can I have some sharp crackers when my throat feels better?"
